This is a self-guided heritage trail through the town of Cowaramup. It has about 20 sites, each with a short history and historic photos, and QR codes link to more information. It follows the town’s growth from the 1920s, when Group 12 settlers arrived and the railway siding opened in 1924. It also covers early wells, stores, a butcher’s shop, bakery, blacksmith and garage, and the saleyards where monthly pig and cattle sales were a social day out for farming families. Other stops include the churches, the hall, tennis club, CWA rest room, recreation ground and show, and Ryan’s timber mill, which closed in 1972. Many of the buildings have since taken on new uses, such as cafés, a taphouse and the Men’s Shed.
