Wadandi Track

This brochure introduces the Wadandi Track, a walking and cycling trail along the route of the former Busselton to Flinders Bay railway. The railway began with M.C. Davies’s timber lines in the 1880s. It was later bought by the Government and extended to Busselton to serve timber, group settlement, farming and passenger traffic, until it closed in 1957. The brochure outlines this history and notes what remains of the railway today, including cuttings, embankments, bridges and culverts.

It then gives practical information. The completed section from Cowaramup to Witchcliffe is about 23 km in four parts, with easy gradients of around 1%. It also lists parking and toilet locations, a code of conduct and safety tips. The track was named Wadandi in 2013, meaning “People of the Sea”, in recognition of the traditional owners. A masterplan envisages future links to other trails.
