Main Street Historic Walk – Site 54

First building was built in 1936 for the local CWA by Jack Clarke and used by the women until 1954. The site was bought by a C.R. Hopkins and the CWA moved to their present location in Town View Terrace in 1956. The building was removed and the land was bought by Jon and Aileen Terry in the 1970's who first thought the town needed a tavern. That led to the construction of the Settlers Tavern who over the years has been owned by Jon and Aileen Terry, Alan Gough, Preston House, Steve Robinson and now Karen and Rob Gough.
